Saddlery, then sleep
Pehr Adolf Janson opened as a master saddler in 1852. The craft that shaped horsehair into saddles became, by the early 1900s, the craft that shapes it into beds. Six generations of the same family still run the company.

02
Horsetail hair, flax, cotton, wool, and slow-grown Swedish pine. Nothing is chosen for marketing. Each material is there because it moves air, wicks moisture, or springs back into shape.
03
Every bed is built in the Köping factory. A masterpiece build takes a small team months, and the makers sign what they finish.
04
Named the official bedding supplier to the Swedish Royal Court in 1952, a hundred years after the company was founded, and still holds that title.

Why this partner
01
Air, not foam
Horsetail hair is hollow and springy. It lets air through and releases moisture overnight, supporting the drop in body temperature that Sleep Week measures, rather than fighting it.
02
A surface that can be held constant
Hand-built beds hold up far more consistently overnight than mass-produced foam. That stability is what makes a three-night comparison meaningful.
03
A ladder, not a single product
Because the collection spans entry-level to masterpiece using the same materials, the rotation isolates how deep the construction goes as the one variable.
04
Something to take home
Whichever surface ranks first in your results becomes a spec, sized and set up, to trial at home in your own conditions.
Hästens is Sleep Week's bed partner. These beds are premium consumer products, not medical devices, and Sleep Week does not sell them. Prices are estimates for a complete bed system and vary by size, market, and configuration. Bed images are supplied by the manufacturer.
